Quantity Surveyor – NI Sites – £Negotiable

My client a well established Building and Engineering company in Co.Tyrone have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team. The Quantity Surveyor will be based on NI sites working on a variety of Building, Civil & Framework Projects, managing the cost aspects of these contracts.

The responsibilities of the Quantity Surveyor will include but not be limited to:

  • Expected to take responsibility for project costing
  • Cost reporting across different works on a monthly basis, depending on sector
  • Building/Civils/MTC
  • Sub-contractor procurement
  • Organise and manage subcontract settlements
  • Identify risks with project team
  • Provide support for any contract issues on project
  • Attendance at monthly progress meetings
  • Management of costings and valuations using various MTC framework schedule of rates

The successful Quantity Surveyor will have the following skills & qualifications:

  • You will ideally hold a Professional Qualification or a degree in Quantity Surveying
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar Quantity Surveyor role, ideally working within PSA/MTC schedule of rates
  • Strong understanding of the construction industry and working on site
  • Full, clean driving licence
  • Good communication and time / resource management skills
  • IT literate
  • Strong working knowledge of contract documents, construction practices & techniques
  • Ability to interpret & make calculations based on drawings
