Are you a talented Data Scientist looking for your next exciting opportunity? Silverwood Recruitment is seeking a dynamic professional to join a trailblazing company within the Renewable Energy industry.


The Senior Data Scientist position involves working with the clients software development team to create forecasting and bid generation models for the software energy management platform. Additionally, the role includes supporting the sales team and helping with internal reporting as needed.

The responsibilities of the Senior Data Scientist will include but not be limited to-

  • Assist the Lead Data Scientist in developing forecasting models for the clients software platform, focusing on areas such as renewable energy generation, energy market prices, and energy consumption.
  • Help the Lead Data Scientist create a bid generation model for multiple energy markets.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of forecasting and bid generation within the clients software.
  • Create reports and performance metrics for their software to benefit both the client management and customers.
  • Gain an understanding of energy market operations across the EU, particularly in Great Britain and Ireland.
  • Support the sales team and handle internal reporting tasks that require complex analysis.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer through detailed documentation of analyses.
  • Communicate clearly and coherently, both verbally and in writing, to understand data needs and report findings.
  • Perform any other relevant tasks assigned by the line manager.


The successful Senior Data Scientist will meet the following criteria-

  • MSC Level Degree in computer science, statistics, applied mathematics or other numerate discipline
  • 3+ years’ practical experience with data processing, machine learning and data analytics.
  • Background in data mining and statistical analysis.
  • Able to understand various data structures and common methods in data transformation.
  • Evidence of effective analytical ability.
  • Proven pragmatic approach to problem solving.
  • Evidence of excellent pattern recognition and predictive modelling skills.
  • Proven ability to use a combined knowledge of computer science and applications, modelling, statistics, analytics and maths to solve problems.
  • Good interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and on own initiative.
