Technical Sales Consultant – Belfast – £28 – £32K + Commission

Our highly technical and innovative Belfast based client have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Sales Consultant to join their Sales team to develop and manage client relationships to support the growth of the business.

The responsibilities of the Technical Sales Consultant will include but not be limited to:

  • Work with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to create a robust sales strategy to meet short and medium term business strategy
  • Deliver and exceed quarterly sales targets.
  • Provide feedback and input into company products and pricing structures
  • Build and manage business relationships with key customers to ensure the expansion of opportunities to promote and sell the company’s products and gain repeat business
  • Provide continual feedback to Customer Solutions on what solutions work well for customers and what solutions customers are requesting
  • Manage and delivery Residential sales
  • Conduct research to identify customers in specific industries and determine the most appropriate approach to use in each case
  • Work collaboratively with Marketing to deliver the company’s branding efforts as defined by the marketing strategy
  • Identify which of the company’s products are appropriate for each potential customer, remaining aware of sales v. profit margins, and participate in sales activity as required, including the negotiation of pricing
  • Participate and compose bid and proposal submissions
  • Represent the company at relevant trade shows and exhibitions, using networking opportunities to build brand awareness and highlight the company’s products
  • Design and participate in the delivery of formal corporate presentations as required
  • Produce management reports and other information as required by the SLT to assist with sales, financial and operational planning and inform future business direction
  • Line management of any sales support resources identified and onboarded
  • Any other duties, within reason and capability, as determined by the Director of Customer Solutions


The Technical Sales Consultant will meet the following criteria:

  • You will hold a 3rd Level education ideally in a Business Related, Renewables or Engineering Discipline
  • Experience in or knowledge of the identification of opportunities to promote brands/organisations with key customers.
  • Practical experience in the use of all media channels for promotional reasons including the use of social media in a business context.
  • Experience in the design and delivery of formal corporate presentations
  • Proven experience of creating and delivering successful client propositions.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, including excellent presentation, negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Proven ability to cultivate and maintain successful business relationships with key external customers.
  • Evidence of strong analytical, problem solving and decision making abilities.
  • Proven ability to achieve challenging objectives while working independently and on own initiative.
  • Ability to read and interpret financial information.

Although not essential it would be highly advantageous if the Technical Sales Consultant had experience with Consultative Sales and knowledge of the Renewable Energy Industry.

Due to the nature of this role and the international reach of this company there may be some travel involved so you should have both a Valid Driving License and Passport.
